Denis Bribosia: The Council of Europe supports many initiatives aiming at strengthening human rights and democracy in Azerbaijan

The Council of Europe (CE) supports many initiatives aiming at strengthening human rights and democracy in Azerbaijan. As Mr. Mammedguliyev stated today, democracy and human rights issue are constantly putting new challenges to all our members states, as they do in Azerbaijan, stated Special Representative of the Council of Europe Secretary General in Azerbaijan Denis Bribosia in his interview to APA.
According to Mr. Bribosia, Azerbaijan has a productive cooperation with the CE. He reminded that representatives of the Council of Europe Venice Commission will visit Baku next week and discuss amendments to the Election Code.
Touching upon the issue of international NGOs and the objectiveness of their recommendations, D. Bribosia stressed that it is not in his mandate to comment on NGOs activities.
"These organizations are independent and have the full right to have their own perceptions", he said. /APA/
