Member of Azerbaijani delegation Ganira Pashayeva also participated in the discussions. She said that she chairs Azerbaijan-Georgia interparlimentary friendship group in Azerbaijani Parliament and often visited Georgia. MP said that development of democratic institutions in Georgia, protection of human rights, ensurance of rule of law is significant for national minorities living in this country, as well as Azerbaijanis.
The main problem is a territorial integrity for citizens of country irrespective of being Azeri or Georgian. Aggressive separatist countries as Abkhazia and South Ossetia, violence of territorial integrity, refugee problem are main problems for Georgia and its citizens over 15 years. These separatist countries violated stability in occupied Azerbaijani lands and South Caucasus. Georgia and Azerbaijan are CE member countries, but there are not serious results in the direction of restoration of territorial integrity of the two countries. Grey zones - Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Nagorno Karabakh being out of international control are serious threat for security of Europe,” she said. She proposed to establish Subcommittee on frozen conflicts. Azerbaijani MP noted touched upon the issues on returning of Ahiska Turks to Georgia, cooperation in the framework of GUAM and forthcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia./APA/
