Valeri Chechelashvili: We are taking active measures for supporting draft bill on frozen conflicts in UN General Assembly

Mr. Chechelashvili stated that the aim of his visit to Baku is to end first half year of Azerbaijanâ€™s chairmanship of GUAM and to prepare plans of second half year.
â€œThe priorities determined in Baku summit have not changed â€“increasing international influence of organization, continuing to draw international societyâ€™s attention to frozen conflicts and carrying out joint economic projects,â€ he said.
Mr. Chechelashvili noted that cooperation with other countries is one of the priorities of GUAM. Poland will join to the cooperation with GUAM after US and Japan and the meeting will be held in the frame work of GUAM-Poland format. Economic and political issues will be debated at the meeting. Mr. Chechelashvili stated that they want the support of Poland to their initiatives on the solution to the conflicts.
â€œWe are taking active measures for supporting draft bill on frozen conflicts in UN General Assembly,â€ he said. He stressed that the document has been prepared basing on international norms and said that several countries may not protect the project.
â€œI believe that majority will protect us,â€ he said. Mr. Chechelashvili noted that next summit of GUAM will be held in Georgia in June or July,2008./APA/
