Bahar Muradova: There is no ground to appoint new rapporteur on Azerbaijan for political prisoner

Judgment of Azerbaijan, as well as people who collect signature for appointment of new rapporteur is important. She said that adoption of such decision without the Azerbaijanâ€™s judgment is not expedient and noted that she did not expect serious contradictions in the approach of this issue. As to position of government whether rapporteur is appointed, Muradova declined to give information.
â€œIf there is such opinion, new rapporteur will be probably appointed. But I donâ€™t want to give any explanation. There is no ground to appoint new rapporteur on Azerbaijan for political prisoners today. Nobody was held accountable for his political activity in Azerbaijan. There are people who arrested for any crime and they are members of various parties. Being member of party does not release any citizen from responsibilities before the law. I do not receive reports on being political prisoners in Azerbaijan./APA/
