Andres Herkel: Though we intend to visit Azerbaijan in February, the exact date of the visit has not yet been defined

Debates were carried out on the forthcoming visits of co-rapporteurs to Azerbaijan in the meeting.
â€œThis visit is expected to take place in February, but the exact date has not yet been specified,â€ he said.
Mr. Herkel said that he touched upon media situation in Azerbaijan, political prisoners, amendments to Electoral Code and other issues while addressing the meeting.
Mr. Herkel said that he gave proposal on defining special rapporteur on political prisoners to Azerbaijan in PACE Monitoring Committee. He said that the other co-rapporteur Yevgenia Jivkova did not attend the meeting.
â€œShe said that she has a lot of works to do in Sofia. I will have telephone talk with her for agreeing date of our joint visit to Azerbaijan,â€ he said. /APA/
