Azerbaijani candidates for judgeship in European Court of Human Rights interviewed in Paris

The interview is being held in the PACE subcommittee on the election of judges to ECHR.
Three candidates from Azerbaijan - Khanlar Hajiyev, Tashad Hasanov, Aygun Abdullayeva are participating in the interview.
Azerbaijani governmentâ€™s representative to ECHR Chingiz Asgerov told the APA, the interview will end in the evening today. Following this, names of the three candidates will be submitted to PACE.
Judge who will represent Azerbaijan in the European Court of Human Rights will be defined in PACE January session. Deputy head of Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) Gultekin Hajiyeva also participates in the discussions.
Bureau of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe taking proposals of subcommittee on judicial election, made a decision on sending back the list of the Azerbaijani candidates for judgeship in ECHR not long ago. The decision said that principle of equal rights of Azerbaijani candidates was violated. /APA/
