YAP to hold zone meetings on preparations to presidential elections

Ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) continues preparations to 2008 presidential elections in region organizations, member of YAP Management Board Karim Karimov told the APA.
He said that Party will have zone meetings due to preparations to presidential elections.
â€œSuch meeting was already held in Lenkeran. Party organizers were given special tasks in this meeting. The analogical meetings will be held in other zones,â€ he said.
Karim Karimov said that preparation works will be continued till the day of election. As to whether YAP will held its next congress in 2008 or not, member of Management Board of YAP said that there is not concrete decision regarding it yet.
â€œRegion organizationsâ€™ holding conferences does not mean that preparations are done for the congress. According to Party Rules, the Congress is held once in four years, conferences of region organizations once in 2 years. There is not concrete issue regarding the Congress in the Party,â€ he said. /APA/
