Azerbaijani parliamentarian meets Ahiska Turks retuned to their lands

27 families have already moved to Akhalkalaki (Ahiska).Several of these families moved to their lands from Azerbaijan and Russia. MP Ganira Pashayeva, head of Azerbaijan-Georgia Parliament Friendship Group visited Georgia at the invitation of heads of Ahiska Turksâ€™ Veten Societyâ€™s offices in Baku and Tbilisi and met Ahiska Turks who retuned to their historical lands. Issues on the problems of Ahiska Turks were discussed at the meeting. Ahiska Turks stated that they expected humanitarian and moral assistance from Turkey and Azerbaijan. Ms. Pashayeva noted that she will meet with Akiska Turks in January next year. Ms. Pashayeva added that she said in her speech in the international conference held in Ankara on International Human Rights day that she called on Turkic world and Turkey to support Ahiska Turks to return to their lands. CE and several international organizations will hold the event which will serve for returning of Ahiska Turks to their lands in December this year./APA/
