Azerbaijan Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov making keynote speech in the event said that Azerbaijan closely cooperates with Euro-Atlantic structures.
“Security challenges, ways of removing conflicts will be debated in the session which will continue till December 15,” he said.
Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Huseyn Avni Karsioglu stressed that Azerbaijan has great perspectives.
“Turkey and Azerbaijan are two fraternal countries. That is why Karabakh is very important issue for us. Especially for security,” he said.
NATO Liaison Officer in the South Caucasus Zbigniew Rybacki said that they support Azerbaijan’s integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.
“Azerbaijan is of great importance to NATO in several fields. Azerbaijan’s role is great especially in regional security and fighting against terrorism,” he said.
The event will be devoted to the theme “Peace operations in the Euro-Atlantic Area: challenges and perspectives”.
NATO partnership programs and Caucasian policy, principles and legal aspects of peace operations, NATO peace operations, conceptual approaches to notions peace and war, reforms of security sector in post-conflict societies, national approaches to peace operations, media and civil organizations’ role in peaceful processes, civil-military relations, problems and perspectives of peace operations will be discussed in the session. NISA winter session is held at the support of Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry and expert and financial aid of NATO Public Diplomacy division.
NATO International School of Azerbaijan aims at establishing cooperation among young scientific investigators, free experts, as well as military and civil representatives of Euro-Atlantic region and NATO member and partner states, discussing modern threats, investigating their solution ways through joint efforts. /APA/
