PACE mission including Ganira Pashayeva holds meetings in Georgia

Four-member mission established by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for studying the pre-election situation in Georgia had several meetings today, APA’s Georgia bureau reports. The mission including member of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, chief of Azerbaijan-Georgia interparliamentary friendship group Ganira Pashayeva had meetings with heads of Council of Europe, OSCE, European Union and UN offices in Tbilisi, Acting President Nino Burjanadze, members of Georgian delegation to PACE, chief of Central Election Commission, members of government and opposition factions in parliament, chairman of Supreme Court, Prosecutor General, heads of research centers, NGOs and representatives of mass media.
The meeting focused on pre-election situation in the country, holding democratic, transparent elections in line with European standards.
The delegation is expected to have meetings with Interior Minister, chief of Security Council, members of the Press Council, heads of Constitutional Court and Central Election Commission. /APA/
