Interior Ministry holds board meeting

The ministryâ€™s press service told APA that Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov said that the debated issues are of great importance for the interior bodies, and including the three issues into agenda of the board meeting is not accidental. The minister noted that along with the success achieved within the 11 months, there are shortcomings and underlined the necessity of eliminating them.
Police major-general of Head Criminal Search Department Emin Shakinski commenting on the first issue on the agenda, said that Interior Ministry always focuses on proper activity in searching the accused and missing persons.
â€œ3151 wanted, as well as 94 accused persons hiding in CIS and other foreign countries were arrested within ten months of this year, whereabouts of 6 men wanted by National Bureau of Interpol in Azerbaijan, 16 men wanted by Interpol member states and 63 searched by CIS countriesâ€™ law-enforcement bodies have been defined.
The number of those who are searched reduced by 1.2% compared with proper period of the last year,â€ he said.
Deputy chief of Drug Combating Office, police colonel lieutenant Shahin Mirzayev said in his report that 295 kg narcotics costing $ 2 million was taken in â€œGara Bazarâ€ (Black market) during searching operations. 86.3 kg opium, 120.5 kg marihuana, 62.6 kg hashish, 25.5 kg heroin was found. 737 facts were revealed on the sale of narcotics, and it is 83 facts more compared with the proper period of the past year. Smuggling of 122.9 kg narcotics were removed, 41 foreigners were held accountable during report. Office and its regional departments revealed 185 facts within this period, over 140 kg narcotics were taken. Chief of Main Personnel Department police colonel Novruz Novruzov said that 98 people were admitted to mid chief post of Interior Ministry as a result of test exams. State Student Admission Commission carried out these exams. The documents of the candidates are collected for carrying out next competition at present. /APA/
