“Amendments to the Electoral Code depend on the society’s resistance force. The authorities do not agree with the opposition, as they do not see this force,†leader of Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) Etibar Mammadov said, APA reports.
Etibar Mammadov said that weakness of resistance force sources from different causes, that’s why the organizations, which should direct this force, can not take influential steps.
The party leader said that the authorities strengthened their position vis-à -vis the international organizations by a number of means and that’s why there is not enough international pressure.
“The society should have its own resistance force, determine its living standards and intellectuals should participate in it. It is not important how the Election Code is. The main thing is its implementation. Normal elections may be held, if the current law is obeyed,†he said. /APA/
