Parliamentarians sign appeal for commutation of Ganimat Zahidâ€™s sentence

Parliamentarian Panah Huseyn told APA that the parliamentarians first wanted to apply for the release of the editor-in-chief on personal bail, but as it is annulled by the legislation, they had to choose another variant. Panah Huseyn said the appeal has already been prepared and the parliamentarians are now signing it.
Collection of signatures will continue till the end of the day and will be later sent to General Prosecutorâ€™s Office. At least ten parliamentarians are expected to sign the appeal.
â€œWe will use all legal means for Ganimat Zahidâ€™s release. We plan to take legal, political and humanitarian measures. We do not want long-lasting measures, we want the sentence to be commuted,â€ he said. /APA/
