A group of opposition parties offers establishing election commissions of the persons not represented in any political force

The party told APA that Azadliq (Freedom), United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, Great Establishment Party, National Democratic Party, Tereggi (Progress) party, Free Azerbaijan party, National Independence Party, United Azerbaijan party, Open Society Party, Turkish Nationalist party, Social Democratic Party, Azerbaijanâ€™s Path Political Movement and political parties of Our Azerbaijan Bloc participated in the event. They exchanged views on improving, amending the Electoral Code and decided to continue cooperation in this field.
A statement was issued at the end of the event. The statement drew attention to the problems on holding democratic elections.
â€œSome partiesâ€™ claims on forming the election commissions of only their representatives are groundless, when there is a need for the democratic forces to unite, in order to amend the electoral code and hold democratic elections. There is no guarantee that the elections will not be falsified, even if the election commissions are fully composed of the representatives of these parties, taking into account that these parties traded with the authorities in previous elections, gave up democratic principles for several seats and their representatives in the election commissions signed counterfeit protocols for certain interests,â€ statement says.
The statement also underlines that some partiesâ€™ activity aim at separating the opposition.
â€œSome parties aim at separating democratic forces in the most principle issues before the elections, trading with the authorities and getting the grants allocated by the west,â€ the statement says.
The statement also notes the necessity of establishing election commissions, which are not under the control of any political force.
â€œWe demand changing of the present electoral code and establishing election commissions that will ensure holding democratic elections and which are not under the control of any political force,â€ the statement says. /APA/
