Ziyafat Askerov: Implementation of IPAP between NATO and Azerbaijan is not delayed

NATO assessment group visited Azerbaijan on February 12 will assess Azerbaijan’s fulfillment of commitments in the framework of Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) signed between NATO and Azerbaijan, First Vice-Speaker, chairman of the standing commission on Defence and Security issues Ziyafat Askerov said, APA reports. Askerov said in the first stage assessment group stated that the work is done in the framework of the plan.
“Implementation of IPAP is not delayed. The group will assess the situation in Defense Ministry, Border Troops and other military units,� he said.
Askerov also enumerated Azerbaijan’s commitments in the framework of IPAP.
“They are conformation of education and training to NATO standards, preparation of security strategy and military doctrine, conformation of Armed Forces to NATO standards, creation of mobile military unit, forming transparent planning and budget system, modernization of one military aerodrome and war ships of Azerbaijan’s Navy, improvement of NATO/Partnership for Peace Education and Training Network and application of international humanitarian law in the Armed Forces. /APA/
