150 thousand people expected to join action on April 9 in Tbilisi

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh–APA. Four non-governmental organizations of Georgia issued joint statement on opposition protect action to take place on April 9 in Tbilisi. The association of young lawyers, organization for fair and democratic elections, new initiative of young generation and international transparency-Georgia stated that peaceful action has a significant importance for stability and democracy in Georgia.
The organizations called on the Georgian authorities to protect rights of citizens and to focus on the issues they will raise during the peaceful action on April 9. They invited the journalists to white-light coverage of the April 9 action. “We hope that the action will be held within a law and mistakes made on November 7, 2007 will not be repeatedâ€.
Organizers of the April 9 action addressed the Tbilisi mayor on Friday and showed places where they will hold actions. The organizers warned that the actions will be held in front of parliament on Rustaveli Avenue, in fornt of Georgian Public Television, Avlabar subway station, Tbilisi State University, presidential residencies in Avlabar and Shavnabad. They noted that the action will begin at 14.00 on April 9 and will last until the Mikhail Saakashvili’s resignation.
Members of the action committee Kakha Kukava and Koka Gunsadze signed an appeal to the Tbilisi mayor.
