Georgian government invites opposition to dialogue

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadehâ€“APA. The situation in Georgia was tensed in recent days. Non-Georgian citizens of the country are holding peaceful actions to keep stability and peace in their region and not to be carried away by the extremists, APA Georgian bureau reports. The newspapers are publishing the addresses of well-known figures of national literature, culture and art, as well as politicians to the people. Theater director Robert Sturua, writers Othar and Tamaz Chiladze and former Georgian ambassador to Russia Zurab Abashidze calls the government and opposition for dialogue. The situation in the country is worsening and if there is not a wise step, no one will think about the results, said the artists and writers. The government officials stated that they were ready to go to dialogue with the opposition. President Mikhail Saakashvili called the opposite part for dialogue. He promised to keep the peace. â€œIt is not a time of radicalism. We need in unity todayâ€. Nini Burjanadze told journalists that â€œshe can start the negotiations only after the resignation of the presidentâ€. Some oppositionists said that if the government used the force, they wouldnâ€™t leave the scene and would resists without arms. The Georgian Interior Ministry warned about the sabotages and reports mislead the people in the regions. Representative of the Council of Europe Monitoring Committee Matias Yorsh recently visited Georgia told journalists that the government officials have no time for talks with the opposition. The European officials noted that Georgia can not manage without their support not only in the foreign, but in the domestic policy too. The Georgian experts also suggested their support for positive solution. The actions are extending in the different parts of Tbilisi. The protesters demand Saakashvili to resign. The Georgian president stated for many times that he will take his office until expire of his term.
