Tskhinvali–APA. South Ossetian separatists leased ground area for the Russian military bases for 99 years. APA quotes Interfax agency as saying that the separatist government of South Ossetia decided to lease 4.2 and 5 ha ground areas in Tskhinvali for the Russian army and border servicemen. The military base will be provided with the territory in the Chava residential area in the northern part of separatist republic. The separatist leader Edward Kokoyty said in near future he would sign an agreement with Russia on the deployment of military bases and joint protection of the borders.
Other separatist region of Georgia – Abkhazia will also allow to Russia to deploy military bases in its territory for 49 years.
