2nd Astana Economic Forum held in Kazakhstan â€“ Photo

Laman Agayeva-APA. 2nd Astana Economic Forum has been held in Kazakhstan, APAâ€™s correspondent reports from Kazakhstan that over 400 scientists-economists from 40 countries and 35 international organizations, including Nobel Prize laureates on economy Edmund Phelps and Robert Mundell, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, President of Islamic Development Bank, Ex-President of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development Jean Lemierre have attended the Forum. Russian Presidentâ€™s Advisor Arkady Dvorkovich and above-mentioned guests making a keynote speech discuss ways out of world economic crisis.
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev addressing the forum noted that Kazakhstan firstly felt the results of world economic crisis among CIS countries. Before the crisis, the state could manage to collect capital to the national fund. He stated that world finance system falls and impedes development of the world. He stressed an importance of establishment of unite currency system and preparation of the projects in this field. Nobel Prize laureates on economy Edmund Phelps and Robert Mundell supported the Presidentâ€™s proposal on the establishment of unite currency system.
The forum covers themes such as â€œEconomic safety in Eurasia in the system of global risksâ€, â€œWorld economic crisis and its impact on economic security of countriesâ€, â€œDevelopment of Islamic economy during globalizationâ€, â€œRegional economic cooperationâ€.
Vugar Bayramov, Head of Economic and Social Development Center told APAâ€™s correspondent in Kazakhstan that the forum is important for Azerbaijan, because it was devoted to global economic crisis.
â€œThe forum investigates involvement of investments in the region including Azerbaijan and tries to find ways out of world economic crisis, focuses on regional cooperation basing on it. It will have important impact on regional countries to strengthen anti-crisis measures. Taking preparation of anti-crisis measures in Azerbaijan, we can use decisions and proposals presented during the forum,â€ he said.
