Georgia hands over remains of killed Russian pilot to Moscow

Moscow–APA. Georgia handed over remains of the Russian Tu-22 pilot shot over South Ossetia last august. Deputy Chief of the Russian General Staff Anatoli Nogovitsin said they received remains of body via the International Committee of Red Cross, APA reports. Remains of 7 bodies were handed over to Russia in total. They were sent to the Rostov military hospital’s laboratory for DNA-test. Nogovitsin said Georgian experts tested the body remains and specified them not the Georgian. Therefore they considered that those are the bodies of Russian pilots. The Russian aircraft was shot over South Ossetia on August 9. The bodies of two pilots were handed over to Russia. Other pilot was wounded and he is in the Russian territory now. The crew commander still missing.
