Ukrainian President appeals Constitutional Court to annul election date scheduled by the Parliament

Kievâ€“APA. Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko appealed the Constitutional Court to annul the decision of the parliament to hold presidential election on October 25, 2009, chief of the presidential secretariat Marina Stavniychuk told journalists, APA quotes the Ukrainian websites.
On April 1, Verkhovna Rada passed decision to schedule the presidential election on October 25, 2009, but according to the law, the election must be held on January 17, 2010. Yushchenko stated that he could agree with early presidential election only in that case if it took place on same day with early parliamentary election.
