Moldovan opposition set fire to presidential residence and parliament building

Chisinau–APA. Moldovan oppositionists set fire to the presidential residence and parliament building during the demonstrations in Chisinau. The protesters broke the windows of presidential residence, APA reports. The opposition supporters chanted “Moldova wakes up”, “We want to unite with Romania” and raised the flags of Romania and European Union over buildings of presidential administration and the parliament. They called to destroy the government buildings. Several people were injured during the clashes between police and demonstrators. The opposition demands to annul the results of parliamentary election and Moldovan president Valdimir Voronin to resign. President Voronin expected to address the nation this evening. TV broadcasting, mobile communication and Internet access were stopped in the country. The Moldovan government is holding emergency meeting.
