In European stock markets, FTSE 100 index descended 0.16% to 6,818.17 points, French CAC-40 slipped 0.35% to 4,679.38, Germany’s DAX went down 0.02% to 10,752.11.
In Asian stock markets, Nikkei 225 index grew 1.85% to close at 17,979.07 points, Hang Seng went up 0.46% to 24,425.69, Shanghai rose 0.03% at 3,158.86.
At the latest COMEX auctions, gold price surged $1.70 to $1,221.30 an ounce, and silver price shed $0.07 to $16.69.
