In European stock markets, FTSE 100 index descended 0.90% to 6,749.40 points, French CAC-40 slipped 0.59% to 4,604.25, Germany’s DAX went down 0.41% to 10,694.32.
In Asian stock markets, Nikkei 225 index slid 0.73% to close at 17,545.83 points, Hang Seng went down 0.32% to 24,428.49, Shanghai shed 1.13% at 3,174.18.
At the latest COMEX auctions, gold price surged $1.70 and stood at $1,280.20 an ounce, and silver was sold for $17.17.
