In European markets, FTSE 100 index descended 0.21% to 6,790.04 points, French CAC-40 declined 1.28% to 4,857.66, Germany’s DAX went down 1.18% to 11,064.92.
In Asian stock markets, Nikkei 225 index shed 0.74% to 20,305.50 points, Hang Seng went down 1.89% to 27,055.32, Shanghai slid 1.24% to 5,308.79.
At the latest COMEX auctions, gold price ascended $1.40 to $1.175.00 an ounce, and silver price upped $0.06 to $16.02.
