In European markets, FTSE 100 index descended 1.20% to 6,946.28 points, French CAC-40 decreased by 2.59% to 5,039.39, Germany’s DAX shed 3.21% to 11,432.72.
In Asian stock markets, Nikkei 225 index dropped 1.66% to 19,725.65 points, Hang Seng went down 0.93% to 28,136.29, Shanghai slipped 0.10% to 4,472.36.
At the latest COMEX auctions, gold price fell $7.70 to $1,202.30 an ounce, and silver price downed $0.20 to $16.50.
