Amendments to law on Area structure and administrative area division were discussed at the meeting. Chairman of the Commission Arif Rahimzadeh stated that limitation on number of population is eliminated for the status of cities according to Article 12 of the law. To him, the regions with more than 15,000 populations could take city status by now. Amendments to law on joint activity of municipalities, separation and abolition were debated at the meeting. After the discussions, the two issues were recommended to the plenary session of the Parliament.
