Three Turkish soldiers killed in suspected Syrian regime air strike - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

Baku – APA. Three Turkish soldiers were killed and 10 others wounded in an overnight suspected air strike thought to have been carried out by Syrian regime forces, the Turkish General Staff said.

 

The attack occurred at around 3:30 am (0030 GMT) in the course of a Turkish-led Syrian rebel operation in northern Syria, the army statement said.
 

The injured soldiers were taken to hospitals in the Turkish border province of Gaziantep.

 

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim was briefed on the incident by Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz and Chief of the General Staff Hulusi Akar.  

 

The attack marks the first intervention by Syrian regime forces targeting Turkish soldiers since the launch of the operation, dubbed Euphrates Shield, with Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters to clear Syria’s northern border area of terrorist groups.

Baku – APA. Three Turkish soldiers were killed in an attack by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) near the city of al-Bab in Syria’s Aleppo province on Nov. 24, DoÄŸan News Agency has reported.

 

Seven soldiers were also wounded in the attack on the 93rd day of Turkey’s Euphrates Shield Operation.

 

The injured soldiers are receiving treatment at hospitals in the Turkish border provinces of Gaziantep and Kilis.
