Tehran rejects claims of Iranâ€™s support to Taliban and arms supplies to Yemen

Baku. Suleyman Farzaliyev – APA. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Monday dismissed the US naval official’s claims of Iran’s arms supplies to Yemen as baseless.

“Such claims are made while Iran, the world community, honest people, NGOs and international organizations are criticizing arms sales to Saudi Arabia by weapons-producing countries that incite war,” the spokesman told a press conference, APA’s correspondent reported from Tehran.

Qasemi also rejected rumors of Iran’s support for the Taliban and said any claims in this regard are a shameless and irrelevant lie.

He made the remarks in reactions to the claims by the Taliban spokesperson Mulla Zabihullah who had suggested Iran’s support for the grouplet.

He said the Taliban spokesman’s remarks were a pre-planned scheme designed by its sponsors to blunder the pubic opinions and promote Iranophobia. Qasemi described such attempts by the terrorist grouplet as a futile attempt to divert the world public opinion from Al Saud crimes in killing defenseless Yemeni people.
