Baku-APA. The crisis situation in Syria has no military solution, the problem needs solving through political means, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday during a meeting with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini in Tehran, APA reports quoting Sputnik.
Earlier in the day, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif discussed the situation in Syria.
"Everybody should know that there is no military solution to Syria’s issue and it should be resolved through political ways," Rouhani said as quoted on the president’s official website.
Rouhani stressed, that it is highly necessary to combat the terrorist threat not to let terrorist states and governments emerge in Middle East region and Northern Africa.
