Baku – APA. The International Criminal Police Organisation has elected China’s vice minister of public security as its new president, Financial Times reported.
Hongwei Meng was elected president by Interpol’s general assembly during the latest round of voting for the organisation’s executive committee, according to an announcement made by the agency on Twitter.
He will replace Mireille Ballestrazzi of France, whose four-year term began in November 2012.
Russia's Alexander Prokopchuk was elected Vice President of the Interpol NCB in Moscow.
