Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports citing the Presidential Administration of Türkiye.
It was noted that during the conversation, the two leaders discussed the progress of the worrisome conflict between Israel and Palestine and measures to prevent the spread of tension.
In addition, it was estimated that some initiatives will be implemented to meet humanitarian needs in the region.
President Erdogan said that the targeting of civilian settlements is a cause for concern and that such initiatives are not welcomed by Türkiye.
Erdogan also added that Türkiye will continue to do its best to ensure peace in the region.
