Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with the interim President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, the Turkish Presidential Administration said in a statement, APA reports
During the call, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in Syria following recent Israeli attacks. Erdoğan emphasized that Israel’s assaults on Syria are unacceptable and pose a threat to the entire region.
“The President noted that the ceasefire reached with the Druze community in Syria was welcomed by Türkiye. During the call, Syrian President al-Sharaa expressed his gratitude to our head of state for supporting the preservation of Syria’s political unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty,” the statement emphasized.
