The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has clarified the allegations regarding the deaths of 12 soldiers who lost their lives due to methane gas poisoning, APA’s Istanbul correspondent reports.
"The claims that the entire personnel entered the cave at the same time, that there were no gas masks, that there was a collapse inside the cave, that they were ambushed, that there was chemical gas, or that the soldiers died or were injured due to shrapnel wounds are completely unfounded," the statement said.
