"The claims in various platforms alleging that "American bombers targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities used Turkish airspace" are false and constitute disinformation", it has been noted in a statement by Directorate of Communications Center of the Republic of Türkiye for Countering Disinformation, APA reports.
"Contrary to these unfounded allegations, Türkiye’s airspace has not been violated in any way during the attacks initiated by Israel against Iran, nor has it been used by the United States in its strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities.
In truth, the bombers in question departed from the United States, reached the region via the Strait of Gibraltar, proceeded through the southern Mediterranean to Israel, and conducted their strikes on Iran after crossing Iraqi airspace.
Following the strike, the bombers retraced their route in reverse, conducting aerial refueling over the Mediterranean (south of Crete) before returning to the United States.
The Republic of Türkiye remains steadfast in its commitment to the peace and stability of the Middle East. Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye continues to spearhead diplomatic initiatives in pursuit of this objective.
Any claims to the contrary should be regarded as disinformation."
