A complete ceasefire has been declared in Suwayda, said Syrian Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qusra, APA reports.
The minister noted that the decision was made after agreement with the city's elders: "A complete ceasefire is declared in Suwayda after agreement with the city's elders."
According to him, the forces will only take action in response to attacks or illegal armed groups: "We have ordered the forces to adopt strict rules of conduct in order to ensure public security in Suwayda. Military police will be deployed inside the city to maintain order."
He added that after the clearing operations are completed, the security forces will begin to monitor the neighborhoods of Suwayda.
