A Patriot system will be deployed in Türkiye’s Malatya province to protect the country’s airspace, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense stated, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
“Additionally to the measures we have taken at the national level, air and missile defense measures have been increased by NATO. Within this framework, a Patriot system assigned to support the protection of our airspace is being deployed in Malatya,” the statement said.
It should be noted that the Patriot system (MIM-104) is a radar-based, mobile, long-range air defense system used against tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and modern aircraft.
