Pakistan’s leader Shehbaz Sharif has showed support to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan after the Gulf nation was struck by a barrage of missiles and drones, Al Jazeera reports.
In a post on X, Sharif condemned the attacks on the UAE that set an oil refinery ablaze and wounded three Indian nationals.
“It is absolutely essential that the ceasefire be upheld and respected to allow necessary diplomatic space for dialogue leading to enduring peace and stability in the region,” Sharif said.
Note that, according to the UAE Ministry of Defense, Iran attacked the country with four cruise missiles. Three of the missiles were successfully intercepted over the UAE’s territorial waters, while the fourth fell into the sea.
At the same time, a major fire broke out at an oil facility in Fujairah following a drone attack by Iran.
