"Within the framework of the ongoing developments, customs crossings at the border are being closely monitored by the relevant authorities. No unusual situation is currently observed at the Ağrı–Gürbulak, Van–Kapıköy, and Hakkari–Esendere customs checkpoints," Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, said in an X post regarding the latest situation at the Iran–Türkiye border, APA reports.
According to the minister, cargo transportation continues in a controlled manner, while daily passenger crossings have been mutually suspended.
“Iran allows the controlled entry of its own citizens into the country, while Türkiye permits the controlled passage of its own citizens and third-country nationals. Additional measures have been taken at customs checkpoints, and personnel and technical capacities have been strengthened. Coordination among the relevant institutions continues, and the process is being closely monitored,” the minister noted.
