Israel’s operation in Iran “will proceed without any time limit,” said Defense Minister Israel Katz during a meeting at the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) headquarters in Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning, APA reports citing CNN.
“This operation will proceed without any time limit, until we reach all the goals and decisively win the campaign,” said Katz, who did not lay out any clear military goals for what Israel has dubbed “Roaring Lion.” Instead, he shifted the onus of the future of Iran to its citizens.
“We should also continue to do it in order to enable the Iranian people to rise and act, and get rid of this regime. Eventually, it’s up to them,” he said.
Yair Golan, head of the left-wing Democrats party, blasted Katz on X. “A war doesn’t need a time limit, it needs an exit strategy and a minister of defense who isn’t a clown. But for two and a half years, this government has excelled only at one thing - opening fronts - and getting stuck there.”
