Iraq has proposed creating a diplomatic alliance consisting of Middle Eastern countries and the European Union to end the armed conflict in the region, this initiative was put forward by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani, APA reports.
"We call for the establishment of a diplomatic alliance that will include regional countries and the EU and whose goal will be an immediate cessation of hostilities," al-Sudani's office quoted him as saying. The Iraqi prime minister also emphasized that he considers violations of the sovereignty of neighboring states, including Iran and Arab countries, unacceptable, and demanded that all parties to the conflict "adhere to the principle of good-neighborliness and abide by the UN Charter."
