U.S. destroyers attempted to approach the Strait of Hormuz a few hours ago by switching off their radars in the Sea of Oman, the Iranian army said in a statement, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
The statement noted that the vessels were detected immediately after turning their radars back on, and that the Iranian Navy issued a radio warning regarding the risks of violating the ceasefire.
It was stated that after the U.S. destroyers ignored the initial warning, they were warned again that any attempt to enter the Strait of Hormuz would be considered a violation of the ceasefire and would be responded to.
Amid the U.S. destroyers’ disregard for the initial warning, the Iranian Navy deployed cruise missiles, rockets, and combat UAVs around the vessels.
The Iranian army stated that responsibility for such actions and their possible consequences lies with the opposing side.
