“It is completely natural, legal, and legitimate for Iran to defend itself against Israeli attacks,” said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, APA reports.
“Israel attacked Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. It strikes civilians daily and kills innocent people. As if that were not enough, Israel is now attacking Iran,” he added.
Erdogan accused international organizations of remaining silent in the face of Israeli attacks.
“All our institutions are alert regarding possible impacts on Türkiye. We have prepared for every scenario. Everyone should know this: we do not run a grocery store. We govern one of the largest countries in the world, the Republic of Türkiye,” Erdogan stated.
He emphasized that Türkiye stands not with violence and oppression but with truth, justice, dialogue, and diplomacy: “With this understanding, since June 13, we have been making intensive diplomatic efforts to end the aggression. We have held two phone calls with Mr. Trump and Mr. Pezeshkian. We have had similar calls with leaders of all brotherly countries. We have also discussed the matter with Mr. Putin. Our other friends maintain constant contact with their counterparts. We are doing everything necessary to silence the weapons."
