UN: Israel holds bloodiest operation in Gaza Strip in the past 40 years

In total hospital capacity stands at 2000 beds. There is a lack of equipments and medicines in Gaza hospitals. Due to the depletion of wheat in the Gaza, all major Gaza mills were forced to shut down. Long queues of people at functional bakeries were reported. The Gaza power plant is expected to shut down on 29 December as no fuel was allowed entry into Gaza today. Power outages of up to 16 hours per day are expected in Gaza City, and northern and middle areas of the Gaza Strip. Although no official numbers of Palestinian casualties are currently available, UN reporters said that it was the bloodiest operation in Palestinian territory in the past 40 years. UNRWA spokesman called the situation as a humanitarian disaster. He said the UN couldn’t provide the disaster zone with necessary medical equipments because Israel shut down borders. UN Security Council called on Israeli government to open the borders and to provide Gaza Strip with necessary humanitarian aid.
