Sirnak-APA. Three soldiers of the Turkish security forces were killed and 12 others wounded in an attack staged by militants of the banned Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) in southeastern Turkey on Wednesday, APA reports.
A group of PKK militants around Silk Road Mosque staged the attack against a Turkish military vehicle in Nusaybin Street in Cizre town of Sirnak province, said the report.
It added that the injured soldiers were taken to Cizre State Hospital for treatment and four seriously injured soldiers were sent to Diyarbakir Military Hospital by helicopter.
The Turkish forces take tougher actions against the PKK after the country’s legislature extended on October 8 the government’s mandate to launch cross-border operations against the rebels in northern Iraq.
