Baku. Konul Jafarli – APA. The European Union has called on Iran to conclude a new agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) “without delay” to answer questions about possible military dimensions of the Islamic republic’s nuclear program. APA reports quoting AFP that in a statement released during a meeting of the Vienna-based IAEA, the EU said on June 6 that Iran needs to demonstrate “political engagement” which matches Tehran’s assurances that it will cooperate with the UN nuclear agency on a new “structured approach” to all outstanding issues. The EU noted that talks with Iran about answering questions on the possible military dimensions of its nuclear program have been ongoing for six months, but no agreement has yet been signed. Iran, for its part, has accused the IAEA of acting like an “intelligence organization” as it presses Tehran to respond to queries about the potential military use of its nuclear program.
