Baku-APA. The Iranian intelligence ministry has arrested members of a terrorist team involved in the recent attacks on two university professors in Tehran, APA reports quoting Press TV.

Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, Tehran’s chief prosecutor, told Fars News Agency on Tuesday that the terrorist team received training in a neighboring country to carry out the attacks.

He also said a number of suspects behind other terrorist attacks in Iran are also under investigation.

On November 29, unknown terrorists detonated bombs in the vehicles of Majid Shahriari and Fereydoun Abbasi in separate locations in the capital Tehran.

Shahriari was killed immediately while Abbasi and his wife sustained minor injuries and were transferred to hospital but were released shortly afterwards.

In January, another Iranian nuclear scientist, Masoud Ali Mohammadi, was killed in a bomb attack Tehran blamed on "mercenaries" hired by Tel Aviv and Washington.

“The [terrorist] team has provided judiciary officials with good clues about the elements behind the assassinations," Dolatabadi said.
