Afghan Civilians Killed, Wounded by IED

Baku â€“ APA. Three Afghan civilians were killed and one seriously wounded in two separate improvised explosive device blasts in Kandahar province today, APA reports quoting ISAF web site.

In Zharay district, Afghan civilians struck an IED, which resulted in three young Afghans killed, reportedly 10, 15 and 20 years old. An Afghan National Army and International Security Assistance Force patrol responded to the scene of the blast to investigate the incident.

In Kandahar district a private vehicle struck an IED which resulted in one Afghan civilian seriously injured. The wounded was evacuated to an ISAF medical treatment facility in Kandahar.

â€œThis is a terrible tragedy and demonstrates the indiscriminate killing of civilians from IEDs planted by insurgents. ISAF condemns these acts of terror,â€ said U.S. Army Col. Rafael Torres, ISAF Joint Commandâ€™s Combined Joint Operations Center director. â€œOur thoughts and concerns are with the victimâ€™s families. Weâ€™ll work with our Afghan partners to find those responsible for these attacks and bring them to justice.â€
