Blast kills Revolutionary Guards in west Iran

Baku-APA. An Iranian semiofficial news agency says an explosion has killed several members of the elite Revolutionary Guards at a military base in western Iran, APA reports quoting news.yahoo.com website.
The Fars News Agency, which is close to the Guards, added that several others were injured and taken to hospitals in Khoramabad, some 300 miles (500 kilometers) southwest of capital. It said the cause of Tuesday’s blast was under investigation.
Other Iranian news agencies described the explosion as accidental.
The Mashreghnews.ir news website was the sole outlet to give an exact toll, reporting that 12 guards and been killed and 20 injured. The site has ties to Iran’s presidency.
Iran’s northwestern border area, hundred miles away, has witnessed several attacks by Kurds disgruntled with the central government.
