Asia flooding leaves 140 dead

Baku-APA. Floods and landslides triggered by heavy downpours have devastated parts of Asia over the past week, leaving some 140 people dead, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The death toll climbed as disaster officials and crews reached isolated areas and removed debris from collapsed bridges in Vietnam and Indonesia.

Rescue operations are still underway in search of many other missing people.

The floods have forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of people in flood-hit countries, including China.

The floods have disrupted north-south rail services after parts of southern China were hit by the worst floods in nearly half a century.
